Irene Postolnaya was born in Leningrad, studied, and worked in St. Petersburg.
As a child, she painted with watercolors and graduated from Children's Art School № 1 in Leningrad, enrolling immediately in the 3rd course. She remembers the smell of oil paint from childhood; her father painted oil portraits using the techniques of the old masters.
Her further studies and work were not related to painting.
She has worked in the luxury business for over 18 years. She traveled extensively around the world. Irene loves Italy very much. She has many friends and partners in Europe.
Visits to private residences and galleries such as the Uffizi in Florence inspired her to study painting in this incredible city. So, in the same breath, she took a short-term course at the Academy of Arts in Italy. Upon returning to St. Petersburg, she continued her studies in adult courses. She received her first private commission during her academic work in oil painting.
She has studied extensively and taken lessons from famous artists. Now she is an art teacher (watercolor painting – she has her own unique program for children and adults) and she also studies oil painting in the style of old masters at the Art Academy in St. Petersburg.
