A St. Petersburg artist working in the technique of oil painting.
Born on November 4, 1987, in the city of Leningrad.
In 2010, he graduated from the St. Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy named after A.L. Stieglitz.
He teaches painting and design and is the founder of the creative studio of Alexey Zhukov. For over 10 years, Alexey has been “working as a magician” – helping people master the skill of drawing, bringing the paintings of their dreams to life, offering an engaging creative hobby, and for some, sometimes even a true calling and a second profession.
The works of A.Yu. Zhukov are, on one hand, imbued with a reverent attitude toward the pictorial heritage of domestic and foreign masters of the 20th century, and on the other, with his own vision of contemporary society. That is why influences of styles such as Fauvism, Synthetism, and Expressionism can be noticed in his canvases. Filled with the spirit of historic Petersburg, inspired by various genres of music, and seeking himself in Eastern philosophy, the young artist combines a soft color palette with bright, saturated tones in his works. Most of A.Yu. Zhukov’s paintings are filled with symbolism and historical references that only a discerning art connoisseur can read. His inspired fascination with the past and romanticization of traditions characterize the young artist as a searching and insightful critic of contemporary postmodern culture.
