Dmitry Konochkin (born in 1977 in Moscow) is a professional artist. He graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry (2000), department of monumental painting restoration.
He works in a contemporary realistic style. His paintings explore themes of the subconscious and the duality of human nature. His ideas come from traveling and reading books.
The artist places special emphasis on the art of portraiture, its psychology, and power. Dmitry prefers to work in mixed media, combining oil painting with metallic acrylic.
The Pre-Raphaelites, as well as Gustav Klimt with his characteristic golden backgrounds, have had a significant influence on his work.
The artist does not limit himself to a fixed style. His works are constantly changing, transforming into something new. In his creative search, Dmitry experiments with combining three-dimensional relief with painting, which greatly enhances the expressiveness and tactility of the artworks.
