In his practice, Pavel draws on personal mythologies, immersing anthropomorphic or humanoid characters in paradoxical scenarios. His works resemble dreams, fantasies, desires, thoughts, or intentions that transcend the boundaries of propriety and restraint, reflecting the idea that the animalistic nature of humans never fully disappears from their essence. He also engages with contemporary society, reconstructing the space within his works and filling it with a multitude of allusions and symbols. Pavel’s extensive travels further shape his practice, transforming it into a multifaceted and multimedia process.
With a background in street art and design, Pavel explores the aesthetic possibilities of modernism and metamodernism, drawing inspiration from such renowned artists as Pablo Picasso and Francis Bacon. His selected mediums include oil for working with color and texture, pencil and charcoal for achieving precision, contrast, and exploring form and line, as well as digital art and spray paint for experimental approaches.
