My name is Alexey Shalaev, I was born in Moscow. I love this city despite all its problems. Moscow is lively, capricious, slightly moody, constantly changing its appearance, yet at the same time sweet, sincere, and certainly beautiful. In all this, it reminds me of a charming woman who can leave few people indifferent.
For 30 years now, the main and favorite theme of my work has been the urban landscape; I have been painting a portrait of Moscow.
I wish you a pleasant acquaintance with my work, and I will be glad if any paintings resonate with your soul.
Born in Moscow in 1966.
He received an aviation technical education.
From 1989 to 1992, he began his creative activity with street vernissages on the Old Arbat.
In the early 90s, he lived abroad for a long time, where he began to paint professionally.
Since 1992, he has participated in exhibitions in Paris and Prague (the Montmartre Vernissage, the Rapid Gallery, and On Tseletnaya Street).
From 1992 to 1993, he took courses at the Stroganov Moscow State Agricultural Academy.
From 1992 to 1999, he was engaged in the design of outdoor advertising and printing.
Since 1997, he has participated in exhibitions in Moscow.
Since 2004, he has been a member of the Moscow Art Museum and the International Art Foundation.
Since 2008, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New Peredvizhniki creative association.
In 2013, he was awarded the Wassily Kandinsky Medal of the European Academy of Sciences, Hanover.
In 2017, he won the Grand Prix of the Moscow plein-air competition "Old Moscow" at the Moscow House of Nationalities.
In 2018, he received a letter of thanks from the Chairman of the Moscow City Duma.
