Irina Ternovskaya was born in Choibalsan, Mongolia. In 2002, she graduated from Stroganov Moscow State University of Art and Design, majoring in Interior and Equipment, and the Artistic Textiles Department. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Moscow Art Foundation. She is the founder of the "Irina Ternovskaya Design" brand, which creates accessories from natural silk and wool using graphic motifs from Irina Ternovskaya's paintings. She lives and works in Moscow.
