Hello, I am Marina Khakimova, an artist working in a technique I developed myself, based on the sgraffito method. My technique is unique; it has no analogues in the world. It's about time to come up with a name for it and patent it. Many people, when they see my works in person, think they are prints because the texture of my paintings is so delicate. The scraping is so fine that it is hardly possible to see the grooves from the blade with the naked eye. The paint is scraped off layer by layer with a knife, creating the image. The technique is meticulous and complex; it is more akin to graphics in terms of the restraint and precision of movements. The works are done on wood or plywood; canvas is not suitable as a more stable surface is needed. Each piece gradually emerges, and creating the drawing takes hours and days. But the result is worth the wait!
