The painting “Open Air” is an attempt to capture the freedom and multicolor of everyday life in a large city. On the canvas, the artist captures a moment in the evening, when the sun has just disappeared behind the horizon, and the entire space is filled with a thick orange, pink and purple sunset light. The central plot is a car park on the eve of a long evening, when the city passes from the bustle of the day to the fatigue of the evening; buildings reflecting the rays of the sunset, muted figures of cars, deserted roads. Bright “cuts” of white and blue, like flashes of light, dynamically dissect the composition, like a message from the wind or evidence of a rapid change of events. Through this dynamics, the artist expresses the contrast between the eternal nature of the sky and the immediacy of city life. The entire scene seems to be dissolved in light, giving hope and a promise of change, revealing beauty even in ordinary, urban moments. Mixed media allows the artist to achieve a wealth of textures and shades, and the transparent gaps between the multi-colored stripes give the painting a multi-layered effect - as if we see several layers of reality at once. The work is distinguished by a feeling of freedom, slight sadness and anticipation of something new that can happen under this huge, open sky.
