I often have dreams, but this one is the strangest in my life and has impressed me to the core.
The beginning of sleep... I'm standing in the cab of a moving metal elevator in front of closed doors. Inside, there is a gray light, without a single hint of color. The elevator stops. The heavy doors begin to move slowly, revealing a scene that my mind has never seen before...
The sky is orange with a soft ochre shade. An unearthly landscape. The warm clay-colored soil forms soft hills, ledges and cliffs that frame a huge depression in a circle like a volcano crater. I get out of the elevator on one of the upper ledges, look around and see that similar gray elevator boxes are standing in several places on the territory.
The space around is filled with life, purple plants (or animals) shimmering with a golden glow, reflecting the light of the warm sky. The air is very dense, resembling a gel substance, which makes the movement of plants seem smooth and slow.
I raise my eyes up and see a few of the heavenly bodies, apparently satellites of that planet, they are different in size and shape.
I take out my camera, catching myself thinking that I'm about to capture this unreal alien landscape, I bring my eye to the lens, and it's empty, the camera does not capture what I see.
I woke up abruptly, my body and mind in a kind of excited adrenaline state, and the feeling that I had just been thrown onto the bed from another world.
The painting is painted in the technique of multi-layer painting with thin layers of oil paint, which allows you to create a three-dimensional volume and the glow of the lower layers of paint through the transparent upper layers. Work on the painting took several weeks to achieve complete drying and strengthening of each previous layer.
The sides of the picture are the continuation of the image, so you do not need to place the picture in a frame.
Made on high-quality canvas (100% cotton), canvas density 380 gr / meter, stretched on a high quality wooden stretcher frame. Used the best Russian oil paints produced in Russia, the city of St. Petersburg.
