This original artwork "Bridge" was created by the contemporary Russian artist Natalia Gerasimova and is available for sale online.
A small, almost fragile wooden bridge stretches along the shore and comes out to the water, as if inviting you to come out to meet the morning silence and fragrant air. The painting is filled with the air of northern nature: in the foreground is a mighty white-trunked birch with graceful branches, still seeming almost bare after a long winter. It sets the tone for the entire landscape, itself as a symbol of the Russian landscape - judging by the shades of the bark, the play of light and shadow and the expressive texture of the brushstrokes, the tree is the central figure of the composition. The background for this motif is a calm, barely moving water surface - it occupies most of the painting. The reflection of the sky, light rippling waves and gentle lilac-blue tints create a feeling of peace and unhurriedness. The old bridge, built of rough boards, seems a little blurry, uneven in places – as if it had seen fishing, quiet family evenings, and, perhaps, someone’s joys and sadness here for many years in a row.
