In this piece, as in all my paintings, a female perspective on the relationship between man and woman is presented.
Originally, the work was conceived under the title «Echo». Gradually, the female image visually transformed into Nefertiti, who seems to be calling her man Akhenaten; his name already contains a resonance with the word ECHO, but overall the theme of «echo» is not directed at any specific man—it is an image of a woman’s search for her one and only, that very man.
The colored lines and spots running across the bodies and hands in my works also carry meaning. Here, I wanted to show a certain discordance of color, as if a void in the female body that requires some kind of fulfillment.
