But in 1990s it was a break in space projects, and it was decided to use the rocket as the monument for Samara's contributions in space race. It was made in Central Special Design Bureau in the city of Samara. Therefore, Samara bears the title of the space capital of Russia. Until now, the satellites and rockets that are launched at the Baikonur cosmodrome are being developed and manufactured in Samara.
