The Judgment of Paris. The Leningrad Case.

In Vladimir Neumann's painting, two Leningrad poets from the Siege period are depicted: Olga Berggolts and Vera Inber. The artist portrayed an invisible battle between them for the title of the Blockade Muse. Their dispute is to be judged by Paris, at whose feet lie a bell (a symbol of Berggolts' poetry), a crown (a gift from Juno), and green grass (Vera Inber edited her "Pulkovo Meridian" with green ink). It is known that officially the Blockade Muse was recognized as Inber (she received the Stalin Prize "for Leningrad"), but the unofficial popular recognition for poems about the feats of Leningraders went to Berggolts. Despite their rivalry, each of them remains in the city's poetic history, as evidenced by the Latin motto inscribed on the bell:
Each is worthy.
