Painting "Mine". Size: 120 by 80 cm. Material: canvas on stretcher, acrylic paints, acrylic varnish.

The painting is sold. Custom sizes can be made to order.

Mine. The entire surface of the canvas is composed of a fine grid of squares, reminiscent of a chessboard pattern or pixels. Dominated by deep reds, burgundy, dark brown, and black tones, which occasionally flare up with bright yellow-orange spots, like lights, embers, or flashes of heat deep within the rock. These glowing areas create a rhythm, evoking a sense of pulsation and hidden energy.

Against the geometric structure, translucent human figures with raised hands emerge. They are barely discernible, like ghosts or shadows of people lost in the depths of the mine. Their poses simultaneously suggest effort, supplication, and resistance. The figures seem woven into the very fabric of the space—not separate from it, but absorbed by it.

Thin wavy lines crossing the grid add a sense of distortion, as if the space is bending under pressure—physical or emotional. Overall, the painting is perceived as a metaphor for hard labor, human vulnerability, and struggle within a confined, dangerous world.

"Mine" is read not only as an image of a specific place but also as a symbol: a depth into which a person descends—external or internal—facing tension, fear, and hope for light.
