This original work «Bagrov’s Grandson, Alias Aksakov Sergei Timofeevich» was created by contemporary Russian artist Alexei Kolesov and is available for purchase online.

Novo-Aksakovo, or Znamenskoye, one of the estates of the Aksakov noble family, was founded in the mid-18th century by relocating serfs from the Simbirsk estate to the lands of the Buguruslan district in the Orenburg-Samara Volga region.
Russian classic Sergey Timofeevich Aksakov, the grandson of the estate’s founder, spent his childhood, youth, and the first years after marriage in Znamenskoye.

His elder children were born in this old noble nest; the remains of his grandmother and grandfather rest in the surrounding
villages. The rural life of a landowner taught Sergey Timofeevich to love and appreciate nature; under the name Novoe Bagrovo, he vividly described Znamenskoye in the book «Family Chronicle». His passion for hunting and fishing formed the basis of his books «Notes on Fishing» (1847) and «Notes of a Gun Hunter of the Orenburg Province» (1852). These works brought Aksakov fame as a recognized master known throughout reading Russia. His narrative was considered classical, and his descriptions of nature – poetic portrayals of animals, birds, and fish – were masterful.

In a review by Ivan Turgenev, his talent was praised as that of a subtle master of description. Nikolai Gogol complimented him: «There is more life in your birds than in my people»... Over time, the vast area between the Volga and the Urals, artistically conveyed through Aksakov’s images, came to be known as the «Aksakov Forest-Steppe».

This painting can be hung on the wall in your apartment, house, office, restaurant, or hotel, and it will become a wonderful decoration for your interior.
