The painting ‘Fragility of Beauty’ is part of the series ‘In the Footsteps of Lost Civilizations’, which reveals the fragile connections between the past and the present. Its artistic language is based on the aesthetics of fragmentation and ambiguity. Traces of ancient ornaments or images are not fully revealed, but appear as fading echoes, emphasizing the inherent vulnerability of beauty. This deliberate incompleteness serves as the main means of expression, transforming the canvas into a visible reminder of transience.

The painting “The Fragility of Beauty” is a symbolic statement about the passing of time. One can imagine how the fingers feel the rough cracks of an antique dish that retains the warmth of the hands of a long-forgotten craftsman.

Velvety peaches rest on the dish—their delicate skin is saturated with the summer heat, but the fruits will soon wither, turning into a translucent shadow. Rough folds of fabric frame the central part, like the pages of an ancient scroll where colors once bloomed. The bust of the Etruscan goddess Uni, patroness of fertility, has not been spared by time: every chip, every crack is like a wrinkle that hides its own story. Artistic techniques masterfully convey the texture of destruction: monochrome fabric resembles sun-parched earth, cracked marble radiating the sun's warmth.

The work reflects the artist's deeply personal experiences of the transience of life. It is a reflection on how, in the pursuit of ephemeral goals, we can lose our taste for life and cease to notice its beauty—the words “Not everyone can see the unique moment of beauty that is slipping away” appear on the canvas.

INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS

As an investment object, the painting “The Fragility of Beauty” demonstrates a convincing combination of serial affiliation, exhibition recognition, stable market demand, rising prices for reproductions, and publications in specialized print media. The most important factor is the work's affiliation with the conceptual series “In the Footsteps of Lost Civilizations,” which provides it with a recognizable artistic context and enhances its collectability.

The exhibition history in 2025 demonstrates recognition at various levels. The painting was presented at the international multimedia exhibition “Dialogue across Continents” and at the All-Russian competition “Talent of Russia” in Moscow.  In the same year, together with other works from the series “In the Footsteps of Lost Civilizations,” the painting was included in the artist's solo exhibition in Padua (Italy). The work is a prize winner of the international exhibition-competition of contemporary art in Serbia “Art Assembly in Europe” (Belgrade, 2025).

The market viability of the work is confirmed by the successful sales of its reproductions (giclée, limited edition, 10 copies). Between June and October 2025, three reproductions were sold on the ArtSreda platform, with a 22% increase in sales value. This trend indicates a growing demand for the artist's works.

The status of the painting is further confirmed by publications in 2025 in specialized print media: its reproduction was featured in the publication Art and Life (volume 24) and in the book Dialogues on Art, as well as in the article “Elena Kosova: From ROSATOM to Painting,” published on the Dzen digital content platform (2025).
