This original work «Bright accents» was created by the contemporary Russian artist Igor Kroitor.
Igor Kroitor’s still life «Bright accents» is a luxurious composition where rich texture and vivid colors create a sense of abundance.
At the center is a low plate filled with autumnal gifts. Sliced plums, segments of tangerines, and whole pears showcase the shine of juicy flesh, painted with photographic precision. The golden and purple hues of the fruits serve as the key color «accents» referenced in the title.
On the left dominates an antique, richly decorated decanter with an elegant stopper. Its dark engraved glass reflects the surrounding light, adding elements of old European or Eastern decor to the scene.
The background and drapery play an equally important role. The backdrop is framed by heavy burgundy fabric and a fragment of an Eastern carpet with rich patterns and tassels. The contrast between the matte, velvety textiles and the glossy fruits and metal gives the work a deep, almost tangible realism. Kroitor masterfully conveys the materiality of each object.
