When I paint, I am concerned only with the harmony of the composition, the beauty of execution, and conveying the spirit. All the images appeared here simply because they wanted to. And what they want to express by their appearance usually becomes clear to me only after some time, and even then, not always. I am not always the first to understand what the painting is about, what I have depicted in it. And I have not yet understood this one.
For now, only associations and metaphors come to mind. And the language of metaphors, images, allegories, and parables — these are masks, shape-shifters of meaning. Sometimes it seems important to find meaning amid the swirling chaos of incompatible fragments. But twilight pushes out clarity, and darkness falls. Then dawn comes, and everything becomes clear again, and the midnight fog dissipates.
This is an endless cycle. A cycle of swinging, inhaling and exhaling, ups and downs, light and darkness. The periphery is everywhere, and the center is at every point. As for the style, it can be called anything: surrealism, symbolism, metaphorical neo-romanticism, decorative realism — none of this seems important to me.
