This original work «Amulette de la Belle Epoque» was created by contemporary Russian artist Pavel Korzukhin and is available for purchase online.
The artist illustrated his vision of the main stages of European history with metaphorical images of decorative amulet pendants.
«La Belle Epoque» is the French name for the European historical period at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. A demo version of the coming Golden Age or a beta version of future social prosperity. At that time, the scientific and technological revolution embraced the European part of progressive humanity with the anticipation of soon solving all problems.
It was an inspiring era when the right hemispheres of the brain finished outlining Art Nouveau ornament contours, while the left ones tightened screws on the fuselages of the latest airplanes, and then, merging in champagne pools under the thunder of can-can music, began actively rehearsing their future life in earthly paradise. And then the new year came — 1914.
The flying machine, like a hot air balloon, sparkling in the sun, a drop of water or a soap bubble — a simple metaphorical image of the proud human mind in the era of the flourishing civilization of the last two centuries. A mind creating endless projects for further conquest of the Universe. Such a simple and understandable, yet very stubborn Universe. All its physical laws have long been discovered, and soon there will be no mysteries left.
Here before you is a weather forecasting machine flying after the drop-bubble, connected to it by some fantastic steam coupling. Here is the author's humorous reference to the era now called steampunk. A festive flight in a clear, sunlit sky. True, cumulus clouds are already flying at full strength, harbingers of changing weather. But as long as the bubble remains intact, the flight will continue, and hope will live on, and with it the Beautiful Era will continue. The main thing is not to accidentally shoot it with a champagne bottle in the midst of the celebration.
