Alexander Ov-Lebedev: artist, photographer, videographer, musician.
Born in 1970 in Moscow.
He gained most of his painting experience from his father N.V. Ovechkin - an academician, honored artist of the USSR, leading artist of the M.B. Grekov Studio - from "alla-prima," the Russian realist painting school, to multilayer painting, the Italian method, which he studied independently.
His main interests in painting are original thematic works, defined by art critics at one of the exhibitions as "mystical realism." The narrative thread uniting the works reveals philosophical aspects of the interaction between man and Nature through a symbolic interpretation of architectural forms. In this interaction, Nature is understood as the Primordial, the pristine, while architecture acts as a human creation.
That is why the landscape genre holds special interest for the artist, as it allows him to share his observations of the surrounding reality with the viewer. He conveys both various states of nature, its air, space, and his own inner state of soul.
The landscape genre is a timeless form of visual art, allowing one to pause the ever-accelerating historical time and external hustle. It gives a person the opportunity to stop, take a breath while contemplating the visible, and feel "the vibrissae of the soul" behind the external image of something more subtle.
