I work in my countryside studio, in a relict pine forest. Wild strawberries and forest lilies of the valley grow right at my doorstep. I wake up to the birdsong and enjoy the crystal-clear pine-scented air. The gentle forest sun warms me in summer, and in winter, the snow turns our land into a fairy tale world. It’s hard to find a place more suitable for creativity. And in my Moscow studio, located in the historic center, I hold meetings, organize exhibitions and "apartment concerts," and simply live with my beloved husband — an artist.
My inspiration comes from the artists of the "Mir Iskusstva" association and others who created during that time — Vrubel, Borisov-Musatov, Korovin, Roerich, Kustodiev, Golovin, Bakst, Erté. I feel close to their style, their aesthetic ideals, their historicism, and most importantly, their theatricality. After all, I am a theatrical artist by education and consider the "Russian Seasons in Paris" held in the early 20th century a triumph of Russian art — the pinnacle of beauty, mastery, and originality in the synthesis of theater and painting, ballet and music, opera and dazzling set designs...
Many of my teachers at the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio (university) worked with Stanislavski and passed on to us the approaches and principles of the masters of the Russian art renaissance, creating a living thread connecting generations — their lessons are invaluable to me.
I work in various styles and genres: painting, graphics, art objects, and author’s fashion. Just like in theater, when a new play demands new expressive means. And I change directions and stylistics, performing new and exciting "shows" in my creative life. I am keenly interested in contemporary painting styles; I don’t accept all of them, but many appeal to me with their freedom, humor, mystification, and unexpected, vivid self-expression.
One of the curators of my exhibitions gave me the title "Enthusiastic Artist." I agree with this! And I wish that this enthusiasm, this admiration for the surrounding world and art, will always be within me and my works!
