Pavel Shumov was born in Yalta (1964). He graduated from the F. Vasilyev Art School in Yalta (1978) and the B. Ioganson Secondary Art School of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts of Russia named after I. Repin (1983).

He has been a member of the International Art Foundation since 2005, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 2014, and a member of the International Association of Arts AIAP UNESCO.

Pavel Shumov has participated in numerous international art exhibitions, plein airs, and auctions in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Germany, England, Belgium, Lithuania, Cyprus, Montenegro, and the USA. His works are held in the Livadia Palace Museum in Yalta, the Lviv State Art Gallery, the Simferopol Art Museum, the M. Kroshitsky Sevastopol Art Museum, the I. Repin Museum in Chuguyev, the Art Museum in Chuguyev, and in numerous private collections (V. Putin, L. Kuchma, Li Peng, R. Hetzer, N. Franco, and others). The artist lives and works in Yalta.
